Police charge Centreville man with murder in fatal shooting

A man was charged with second-degree murder on Wednesday hours after a shooting in the Centreville area of Fairfax County, police said.

Fairfax County police charged Hassan Kanu, 18, of Centreville, in the fatal shooting of Michael Alcantara, 18, of Manassas. Kanu, who also suffered gunshot wounds, also was charged with felony firearm use. Court records did not list an attorney for Kanu.
